When is a car park not a car park?
When it has been turned into a drive-through COVID testing station.
The Booth Tarmacadam team were called up recently to administer some first aid to the London Road Park & Ride car park near the Copdock interchange in Ipswich – a site requisitioned as a COVID testing station and which has received hundreds of visitors over the last months.
The appearance of a sink hole required immediate attention including commercial resurfacing.
It was of paramount importance to undertake the tarmac car park repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible, without causing any obstruction or delays to the vital work of the team administering Coronavirus tests to NHS and key workers as well as the general public.

Although the damaged car park roadway in need of repair was not considerable, its location within the testing station area meant that this was not a straight-forward job.
Communication was key to ensure that the work site could be cordoned off appropriately and that the Booth Tarmacadam team could be granted safe access to undertake the required groundworks around the sink hole and action the Ipswich tarmac car park repair and resurfacing.
The Booth team set to outside daylight hours and were able to work quickly and efficiently in an area delineated by cordon tape and traffic cones.
